UNEMPLOYED

If you are unemployed, think about having a stall at the Original Open Market. The market could be the start of an entirely new direction for you. Nothing to sell? Think again. What are your hobbies? Did you take a trade subject at school? Do you like growing things? Do you like sewing, knitting or painting? What about you young people who like to put your TAGS on things to show your talent. Your artistic flair could be put to good use by putting it on something you can sell, rather than have people call it graffiti and try to paint it out! Do you like collecting things? What about those old stamp collections? Do you squirrel things away? Have you got a great idea for a business but have not got the capital or the courage to start it up? We will give you the chance. These are some of the things to think about; the market is your answer. How many of you fellas did woodwork, metalwork, plastics or other like subjects at school? Why waste all that hard fought knowledge. You can utilize all you learned, put it into practise, and make things for the market. Those bread boards and tea pot stands, chisels and bird feeders can all be made at home and brought to the market with a "Home Made Hobbycraft" sign. Who knows, you might do so well at it that you can start up a small business on your own. You can easily turn your hobby into cash by bringing it to the market. Not only will you be earning money but it will give you a real buzz to think you can capitalize on your own ideas and spare time. The big plus is that all those things you have squirreled away could soon be bringing in some money. As for a business idea, the market is an ideal venue to try it out. Firstly it costs very little to set up. A stall site would set you back just $10. You do not need any capital behind you to try out an idea. As for being afraid your idea will not work, you do not have to worry. The market people are a friendly lot and they will offer encouragement, no one will criticize, but you can bet your bottom dollar they will congratulate you on your effort. You can always rethink your idea too, or think up something new if the original idea does not work. You will be encouraged all the way. Nothing will be lost. Go on, try us out.
