Thirty minutes south of Adelaide The Original Open Market is held on the Open Market Reserve, Beach Road, Christies Beach, South Australia.
That is why strict Rules apply.
To get there join the the wonderfully unique Southern Expressway from Adelaide
Remember, traffic flows north on the expressway from 2.00am to 12.30pm then reverses to flow south from 2.00pm to 12.30am on week days.
On weekends and public holidays it flows in the opposite direction; south in the morning and north in the afternoon.
Or you could join the Main South Road, journey through Morphett Vale until you reach the South Road, Beach Road/Doctors Road intersection.
The Expressway exits on Beach Road also.
Turn right onto Beach Road at the traffic lights, or from the Expressway and travel towards the sea, continuing until you cross Dyson Road, the next major set of traffic lights.
You can also take Brighton Road and keep going until you turn right onto Beach Road.
The market is about 500 meters on the right.
If you want to follow your own map, the reserve is just past Archerfield Street and is surrounded by Beach Road, Price Street, McKay Avenue and Archerfield.
Toilet facilities are available.
Parking on the reserve is not permitted unless you have a stall.
The City of Onkaparinga has given special permission for vehicles to be allowed onto the reserve for market stall-holders only.
Anyone else caught parking there will be liable for a hefty $185 fine and Inspectors check the area regularly.
Bring your family and friends and enjoy a great day out.
The market is within easy reach of the beach, even the Maslin Nudist Beach, plus the McLaren Vale wine district and historic Willunga.
Come and enjoy the experience.
