The Original Open Market Inc. is a non-profit
making organization run by a committee of eight
volunteers who meet each month
to manage the
affairs of the market. Five of the committee have
stalls.
Three members do not. The duties of ALL the
Original Open Market Committee have increased over the years, but every
single committee member, both new and of long standing, has served and are
still serving the market with loyalty, dedication and honour.
They are a committee to be
proud of.

Liz joined the committee
in May 2000 and became Chairman later the same year.
From 2000 until 2003 she also served as Inspector.
Currently her time is taken by Administrative duties at the market and
she keeps the notice board up to date. |

Lyn currently holds the position of Honorary
Secretary, the same role she has held since joining the committee in
1985.
She was awarded a Life Membership in 1995 in recognition of
her service to the
market. |
 |
|
Debbie took over the onerous job of Ticket Officer in May 2007 and
has proved herself a valuable addition to the Committee.
She is also our official Flusherette and First Aid Officer |

Frank joined the committee in 1999 after spending the previous twelve months helping
whenever the committee was short-handed due to the ill-health of Chairman emeritus Bob.
He is now Control Officer responsible for
positioning the stallholders. He is able to site 100 stalls in approximately
twenty minutes. |

Gordon joined the committee in
2003.
He is a very conscientious, hard worker and has tried his hand at a
number of positions.
He is currently assisting Frank to position the stalls.
He is one of our Inspectors and is also our current First Aid
Officer. |

March 2007 saw Gabriel joined us.
He stepped in as Assistant Field Officer and helps our Control
Officer set up the market each market day. He has also made a very
good Inspector. |
 |
|
Stan officially joined the committee in June 2006 after years of
helping the Secretary with her office duties, answering the phone
etc.
Although physically unable to do a lot at the market, he
acts as Inspector whenever he can and lends invaluable support to
the committee at meetings. |
 |
|
Maurice is our
latest committee member. He joined us in 2007 and has tried out in a
number of positions and is currently our Gate Keeper. |
